Jesus is God with us, come to show us God’s love, save us from sin, set up God’s Kingdom, and shut down religion so we can share in God’s life.
We want to invest in our children’s futures and build an empowerment center so we can break the generational cycles of trauma that plague our community. There is a high rate of poverty, unemployment, and violence resulting from the systematic oppression that affect communities like ours across America. It is too often our children who pay the biggest price. We are simply asking to be able to give them a fair chance at a prosperous life.
We are committed to building a full-time management team, regular community-building programs, career services, spoken word coaching, and tutoring programs to help our community’s children.
In addition to our Thursday Worship and Prayer service, we have several opportunities for you to help reach, love and share hope with others!
Spoken Word Workshop is a special and safe space where we give silent pain a voice. We use poetry as a critical tool for expression and empowerment. Young girls use it as a method to address internalized emotions and express themselves during our healing groups.
Natural hair and natural care tackles taboos and offers tips to young black women surrounding natural hair care. This will instill positive identity development and pave the way for healthier hair care.
Our Trauma Healing Group uses yoga and deep meditation to instill effective coping mechanisms for women to help them deal with deep rooted traum and begin their road to recovery.
Our “Say Know to Drugs” program focuses on harm reduction amongst our youth and concludes with four workshops on the clinical effects of drug addiction in the community. We also incorporate education in the community through social, research and rehabilitation professionals, service agencies in treatment and mental health and religious communities.
